Every year Tipperary Dance offers a series of bursaries facilitating the participation of professional and trainee dancers in the Pro Sessions Programme.
The TDF26 bursaries support eleven dancers selected through an open call, providing free sessions, accommodation and local transport, facilitating access to all festival events.
The bursaries and Pro Sessions programme provide a unique opportunity for dancers to dedicate time to their artistic development by meeting and exchanging with their peers and international artists. In the Pro Sessions workshops, festival artists share aspects of their distinct approach to creation and choreography, focusing on creative processes and artistry.
The group of 'Bursary Dancers', as we name it, has been one of the beating hearts of Tipperary Dance Festival since its early days, sharing workshops and practice, meals and evenings, attending shows and events together. Beyond the unique and intense experience of taking part in seven or eight workshops over four days, the bursaries have fostered countless encounters, professional connections and friendships.
