Our guest artists magnify and reinterpret themes that have been pivotal in 2022. The question asked by Gastón Core is not the least: ‘how do we find peace amidst the chaos of the world?’
It is a question we probably all ask ourselves, whether we are a son (Daniel Abreu’s El Hijo), the last of our kind (Gaston Core’s The Very Last Northern White Rhino), or were not born in the country we live in (Mufutau Yusuf’s Òwe).
Securing a legitimate place is both our individual responsibility and the responsibility of the societies that host us. Dance is a wonderful arena to discuss this, in peace and with an open mind.
Tipperary Dance gives prominence to artists and their reflections, offering many opportunities for encounters and exchange of ideas throughout the festival, including a a roundtable, and a masterclass programme.
