Mónica Muñoz is a dance artist based in Dublin. She creates dance experiences for, with and about young audiences with the body as its centre. Mónica presents innovative and meaningful work that are presented in theatre venues, schools, libraries, and outdoor spaces.
She sees young children as participants, creators and audience members, and her practice strives in giving opportunities to children to thrive through dance. Her production FALL and FLOAT has been touring internationally over 75 times widely across Europe supported by Culture Ireland. Other works include FLIP (2023) CONNECT THE DOTS (2022) a commission from Draoicht and UP-CLOSE, commissioned by Tipperary Dance International Festival, Ireland (2021), and the acclaimed PRINCESSES CAN BE PIRATES funded by Business to Arts which toured nationally and internationally.
Monica was selected to participate in the Creative Europe project PUSH+. She was The Ark’s John Coolahan Early Years Artist in Residence 2021/22 a participant of Meitheal: A Branar Initiative 2022-2023.
She was selected for the Pilot Project from the Arts Council Arts in Early Learning and ChildCare Scheme in 2023-2024.
Currently she is Artist in Residency at the Atlantic Technical University 2024-25.
