Robyn is a contemporary dancer and emerging choreographer working across theatre, film & dance. She was the 2022 National Dance Residency Partnership artist, which saw her supported through the five major contemporary dance organisations across Ireland: Dance Ireland, Dance Limerick, Firkin Crane, Galway Dance Project and Tipperary Dance.
Robyn is the Tipperary Dance Associate Artist for 2023 and has previously performed in TD works Miss Orbit, Dominion and Turnstile.
What Robyn says about the piece she will be working on during the residency:
“During my residency at Tanztendenz, I will be working on Queen of the Meadows, a work I began in 2022. The focus for this residency will be to play with the emotional landscape of the already existing movement material, defining the world in which each section lives and delving deeper into the characterisation. I’m thrilled to be developing the work outside of Ireland, it will be interesting to see what influence a new space has on the work. Spending time at Tanztendenz will also open up opportunities for me to meet new and exciting artists which I’m looking forward to.”

“QOTM explores our modern landscape through historical warnings of marginalisation.
It asks its audience to bear witness, to truth and untruth, to the unorthodoxy of curiosity, and what freedom is left when power is a portion that will not be shared. It uses these warnings as fuel, as elixirs, as an energy that sets the wheel spinning.
It asks the audience to chase alongside us, to break the pattern, to emancipate the matriarchy on our passage between the order of the lawn and the inordinate meadow. We are discovering the medicine in the death-roes, evoking what remains of those wives' tales, as truths, still uttering in hushed rooms amidst bated breaths.” words by my collaborator Susanne Engbo- Andersen.
