Wanjiru  Kamuyu 

Wanjiru Kamuyu is a Kenyan-born choreographer, performer and educator based in Paris. Winner of a New York Bessie Award for Outstanding Choreographer, she trained in the United States and began her career with leading companies including Urban Bush Women  and Molissa Fenley and Company.
She has performed internationally for renowned artists  such as Bill T. Jones, Robyn Orlin and Bartabas, while developing her own choreographic work. Since 2017, she has created four acclaimed stage works and a dance film, touring  across Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. Deeply committed to social engagement, she has led artistic projects with refugees and diverse communities. She was associate artist at CCN de Nantes (2023–2025) and a Villa Albertine resident artist in 2023.
