Lisa da Boit

Lisa Da Boit is a professional dancer and choreographer. She trained as a gymnast in childhood, then in ballet and contemporary dance. She has studied at the International Dance Center of Rosella Hightower in Cannes (FR). Since 1994 she has been part of professional dance companies such as Corte Sconta (IT), Francois Laroche-Valieres (FR), Karin Vyncke and Wim Vandekeybus (BEL). She is permanent member of company Exnihilo (FR), which questions the relationship between dance and urban space.

She has co-created and directed the company GIOLISU since 2001. The company is supported by the Government of Belgium and receives the support of several theatres in Brussels. Giolisu is  company in residence at Les Brigittines (BEL). Giolisu has created 9 major performances for indoor theatre, as well as 3 performances for site specific locations.

IL DOLCE DOMANI, a piece for 5 dancers, was awarded best dance performance of the year in 2015.

Lisa has worked as an actress for independent movies that have received awards in different countries. She has recently participated in one of the expeditions of Clowns without Borders in Mexico. She has collaborated with different artists in projects for visual installations, performances and short events.
Lisa has been teaching for professional dance companies and giving workshops in Europe as well as in Mexico and USA.

Lisa is a doctor in philosophy from the University of Venice (IT).
