Ben is a Dublin based dance artist with a passion for choreography and progressive artistic practice. Ben developed a passion for performing arts early in life.

He was engaged to be part of Tipperary Dance Creates 2022 Rising Voices after our Open Call in January. Rising Voices is a new experimental interdisciplinary space dedicated to artistic research, creation and professionalisation, with an emphasis on collective work.

Dance research, under the artistic direction of Alexandre Iseli, will be informed by voice practice sessions led by Musician-Composer Oscar Mascerañas, and in close collaboration with Artist-Dramaturg Javier Cuevas.

About his engagement in Rising Voices, Ben says:

"Rising Voices occupies a crucial and much needed niche in the dance world, especially in Ireland, a space for dancers to learn to see their work as an artist as never complete, but as a continuous learning process sculpted by deep and varied research. For me, I see the program as a ramp for early-career dancers to move from institutional dance education, where one is told what is important, to a more self-motivated and selective dance training informed directly by the working field, where one must discover what is important for themselves.

I think having Alex as the mentor for the project, with a massive careers' worth of  knowledge to impart, and a strong focus on both theatrical and pure physical experience, his vision should be invaluable to any young dancer. I can't help but get excited by seeing a program of this calibre starting in Ireland and getting to be a part of it."
