Dancer and choreographer Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín invites participants to get involved in a series of workshops culminating in a performance of Country OK at Tipperary Dance Festival.
Rehearsal workshops for Country OK will take place on Tuesdays 8, 15, 22, 29 September, 6 October:
In Nenagh Arts Centre | 3.30pm-4.30pm
In Dwan Academy, Thurles | 6.30pm-8pm
The project will culminate in a performance at St. Michael’s Community Centre, Holycross, Co. Tipperary on Wednesday, 14 October 2026 at 7pm as part of Tipperary Dance Festival.
Country OK is a dance performance project that seeks to create an intergenerational space dedicated to the joy of dancing. Inspired by the body-bopping, hip-twisting, heart-wrenching songs of Country music, Country OK is a contemporary expression of the spirit of social dances, dance halls and dancing bodies across the city and county.
Rehearsal workshops will take place with choreographer Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín, live music and a supporting cast of professional dancers. You can choose to attend either venue.
Adults and young people (aged 14+) who are interested in dance and movement, theatre and creativity are welcome to apply, there is no charge for taking part. No previous dance experience is required. No upper age limit. This is an inclusive project and we endeavour to support individuals with a disability to take part. Financial support is available to subsidise access support to be able to participate, eg. arranging accessible transport.
