Daniel Conant is a Canadian choreographer, dancer, teacher, and multimedia artist based between Berlin and Munich. After training in Canada, studying classical ballet in New York, and completing degrees at the London Contemporary Dance School and Codarts University of the Arts, he has built an international career as both a performer and maker. Alongside collaborations with artists including Moritz Ostruschnjak, Paula Rosolen, and Alexandra Pirici, he has developed an independent choreographic practice through a series of research residencies supported by Tanztendenz München. His recent works, Beautiful (2025) and Tender Riot (2026), created with Ana Rita Xavier with music composed by Jonas Friedlich and an international team of collaborators, premiered in Portugal and mark the beginning of an ongoing body of choreographic research.
Working across dance, voice, music, digital media, and live performance, Daniel creates multidisciplinary works that investigate how technology reshapes intimacy, presence, and embodied experience. His practice explores questions of liveness, performer autonomy, power, intimacy, and obsolescence, combining conceptual research with humour, emotional intensity, and a deep belief in dance and music as forms of collective connection. Alongside his artistic practice, he regularly teaches internationally, including at Tanzwerkstatt Europa, where he leads his workshop A Crash Course in Faking Mastery.
