Stephan Herwig is a Munich-based choreographer who has been developing his own choreographies since 2006.
His works have been shown at festivals such as Interplay Torino, Rodeo München and Tanzwerkstatt Europa, as well as internationally in Århus, Zurich and São Paulo, among others.
Residencies have taken him to Mannheim, Luxembourg, Grenoble and Turin.
In 2024, his short film „My Body Is A Monument“ was shown at festivals in Munich, Genoa and Portugal.
As a member of Tanztendenz München e.V., he has been responsible for the ‘Open Studios’, an annual workshop for young choreographers, since 2016.
In 2018, he received the City of Munich’s dance award „Förderpreis“ for his work. His latest creation „Breather“ had its premiere in January this year. Stephan was also part of the latest SPLASH Lab at Tipperary Dance earlier this year.
