Emma Miranda Moore

Emma Miranda Moore writes and directs visually compelling, emotionally ambitious, performance led work. She is currently in development with her debut feature project.

Having grown up in a low socio-economic household, Emma is particularly interested in protagonists who long for more – whether that’s more love or more money or more affirmation – and how that affects their actions. Gender and its influence frequently shape her work. Her writing was first published on BBC Radio when Emma was nine – and she hasn’t stopped writing since.

Emma’s work has screened and been nominated for awards at home and internationally, including at Palm Springs International Shortfest, Hollyshorts, Flickerfest, Aesthetica, Raindance, Bolton, LSFF and dozens more.

Emma’s short films include THAT NIGHT, which stars Ebenezer Gyau (COUNTY LINES, DEAR ENGLAND) and Jamie Flatters (BLACK DOG, AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER). RUN, starring Maddy Hill (EASTENDERS), produced by Sarah Beardsall at Dominic Minghella’s Island Pictures. JACKSON, starring Lauren Corah (PHOENIX RISE) and coming of age micro-short LIT, plus several others.

Emma is an experienced commercials director, known for her calm presence and humour on set. Her TVC clients include Dove, Ecover, Lovehoney, Fairy and more. She has made bespoke projects for Dior, Chanel, Speech & Language UK and many others, including 100% – a film she wrote and directed for The Ritz-Carlton and which shot in Ras-Al-Khaimah, UAE. 100% won multiple awards, screened in The Ritz-Carlton hotels globally and on Harper’s Bazaar online.

Emma’s early career as a fashion photographer informs her meticulous visual style and her ability to draw performance from actors in service of telling the story. Skilled at balancing elements of humour with emotive twists and imaginative visuals, Emma is creative and knowledgeable about the technical and craft elements of filmmaking.

Emma is a member of BAFTA Connect, Cinesisters and Director’s UK.
