Róisín started her training in the ballet barn in Carlow under the direction of Aedeen O’Hagan and Adele Mealy, later she joined the Shawbrook Youth Dance Company and Dublin Youth Dance Company under the direction of Anica Louw and Mariam Ribon. Roisin then spent a year training at the Inchicore College of Further Education under the dance studies umbrella and then auditioned successfully for the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Roisin completed her Bachelor in Performing Arts, graduating with a first-class honours.
Upon graduating Roisin joined Black Box Dance Company (Denmark) as an apprentice for the 2018/2019 season and performed in works by Jason Mabana, Marie Brolin-Tani, Stephanie Thomson/ Thomas Brentin and Tim Rushton, touring across Sweden and Denmark. Prior to this Roisin performed in ‘Ocean’ by Jamaal Burkmar (West Yorkshire Playhouse) and was funded by the Irish Arts Council (Carlow) to make a solo work “Memories, with Betty” to be toured across Ireland as part of the Emergence, young choreographers’ program.
In 2016, Roisin performed in the film “I See His Blood”, Choreographed by Adrienne Brown, Filmography by Eoghan O’Reilly and Music by Robbie Overson. The film was awarded the Audience Choice Award for Best Film and Best Costume at the FAD Festival.
Roisin will be joining the cast of Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures for their new work, Romeo and Juliet this coming year.
