Nigeria-born Irish performer Mufutau Yusuf made his professional debut at the age of eighteen with the Irish Modern Dance Theatre in ‘Fall and Recover’, an experience which then led him to enrolled at Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. Since graduating in 2016, Mufutau has worked as a freelance dancer with various choreographers and companies in Europe as well as developing his own artistic works for both stage and film. Currently based between Ireland and Brussels, Mufutau was a recipient of the Arts Council Dance Bursary award in 2020, using it to research a solo work titled Òwe, which premiered at the Irish Arts Centre, New York. Mufutau also received the Arts Council Dance Project Award in 2022, which he used to further develop this solo to premiere at the Dublin Fringe Festival.
