The Mission of the Excel is to make available a broad, innovative and culturally diverse range of artistic, heritage and live performance experiences for the communities of Tipperary town and hinterland. We offer our communities a place to meet, hold events, promote their work and to visit, enjoy and make contact with each other. It is the aim of the Excel to provide a programme that is representative of professional artistic work of excellence in all of the arts disciplines while being inclusive of community based work from schools, groups and individuals.

This new venue managed by South Tipperary Arts Centre is currently in development.

As well as presenting a range of visual arts exhibitions in our gallery space, we also host events such as music, performance, poetry readings and dance. Outreach and education work is integral to our success, with one of our key objectives being to engage with a wide and varied range of audiences. Our studio is used for short term exhibitions & screenings, as well as for a variety of classes and workshops. It is also a rehearsal space for theatre, dance, music, and is available for meetings and seminars.
Marian Hall Tipperary

Marian Hall is a beautiful and central community space right in the heart of Tipperary Town.

Now in it’s 18th year, off the beaten track, but easily accessible, this magical and tranquil atmosphere at the Centre, inspired by it’s surrounding natural beauty… offers exceptional studio space and accomodation with panoramic views of the Glen of Aherlow and it’s impressive Galtee mountains, Ireland’s highest inland mountain range …making Tigh Roy, Ionad Cultúrtha an important centre for creativity and learning.

The Irish World Academy of Music and Dance is the centre of academic and performance excellence housed at the University of Limerick, Ireland. The Academy honours the energies of performance and academic reflection across a wide range of genres and disciplines. These in turn are informed by innovative community outreach and artist-in-residence initiatives that take the Academy to the wider community while attracting a wealth of international performance and scholarly expertise. Founded in 1994 by Professor Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin, it has come to find its true home on the beautiful banks of the River Shannon in a state of the art building, which includes two theatres, recording studio, individual practice rooms and dance studios, provides and inspiring creative space for all those who study there.
